بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

For the nights that feel longest.

AskMeryam is an Islamic companion for anxiety, low mood, grief and waswasa. Someone to talk it through with, something to hold on to until it passes, and a way back — rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, supported by modern psychology.

After ʿIshāʾ بعد العشاء

Someone to think it through with, at 3am.

Meryam listens first. She helps you untangle what is happening, reminds you what Allah has said about exactly this, and leaves you with something small enough to actually do.

  • Nothing quoted from memory. She is built to draw only on a verified set of verses and hadith, checked against their sources.
  • No fatwas, no diagnoses. For a ruling, a scholar. For your health, a professional. She will point you to both.
  • Never alone with it. If you are in danger, she stops and shows you real people to call.

Meryam is an AI. She can be wrong, and you can report any reply.

Meryamlistening

I keep getting horrible thoughts about Allah in my salah. He must be so angry with me.

That sounds exhausting — and frightening, because it lands on the thing you love most. The Companions came to the Prophet ﷺ with this very fear. He said:

صريح الإيمان

"That is clear faith."
Sahih Muslim 132

The distress you feel is the sign of your iman — not against it.

The last third of the night

When it is too much, start here.

SOS is on every screen — even behind the app lock. It breathes with you, walks you through grounding and dhikr, and puts a real person one tap away. No sign-in. No waiting.

Try it now: breathe in as the circle grows, hold, and let it go slowly as it falls.

Moonlight

And when sleep won't come, something gentle to fall asleep to.

Narrated stories drawn from the Qur'an and the lives of the prophets, and recitations for sleep — with rain or a stream underneath, and a timer that fades everything out so it never wakes you.

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

"For indeed, with hardship comes ease."Qur'an 94:5

AskMeryam's home screen at night: 'Good evening. How is your heart today?' over a dark forest, with a plan for a restful night
AskMeryam's home screen by day: 'Good morning. How is your heart today?' over a misty morning forest, with a plan for a gentle day

The app follows your day. Its light turns to candlelight at Maghrib and back to morning at Fajr — anchored to your own prayer times.

Islam leads. Psychology supports.

The fard is never reduced.

Mercy goes into how you return to prayer — never into how many prayers count.

Nothing quoted from memory.

Every verse and hadith comes from a verified collection, checked against its source.

The prophets are not diagnosed.

They grieved, feared and wept — and that is the comfort. Their stories are never case studies.

Gentle, never gamified.

No streaks, no targets, no guilt when you have been away. Come back whenever you are ready.

What you write here is yours.

People open AskMeryam on their hardest days. It is built for that.

  • No ads, no trackers, nothing sold. There are no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
  • You decide what Meryam sees — journal, worksheets and moods each have their own switch.
  • Pseudonyms in the Circle. Your real name is never shown.
  • An app lock with your fingerprint, face or a code.
  • Delete everything, any time, in one step. How it works

Is Meryam a therapist?

No. She is an AI companion grounded in Islamic sources and evidence-based self-help. She is not a doctor, therapist or mufti — and the app lists Muslim-aware services and helplines for when you need a person.

How much does it cost?

Your first 7 days are free, with no card needed. After that, AskMeryam Plus is £4.99 a month or £34.99 a year. SOS and the crisis lines stay free for everyone, always. See plans

Do I need an account?

Much of the app works without one, and what you do stays on your phone. Meryam, the Circle and keeping your journal across devices need an account.

What if I'm in crisis?

Call 999, or Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night. In the app, SOS is always one tap away. AskMeryam cannot send help to you.

Why AskMeryam began

Made in honour of a war no one could see.

This app was made in honour of a soul who was fighting a war no one could see.

From the outside, everything looked fine. There were smiles when people were watching, and "I'm okay" whenever anyone asked. But inside, the mind had become a place there was no escaping from.

Intrusive thoughts crept in uninvited and refused to leave. Panic came without warning — a racing heart, a chest too tight to breathe, a fear so heavy it felt like it would swallow everything whole. There were nights spent awake until Fajr, begging for just a moment of quiet. There were days when simply getting out of bed was the bravest thing that could be done.

And the questions came too. Is something wrong with me? Is my faith too weak? Will anyone ever truly understand?

Through all of it — through every tear no one saw, and every prayer whispered into the dark — that soul never let go of the rope of Allah. Some days it was held with both hands. Some days, only with fingertips. But it was never let go.

Slowly, painfully, beautifully, the way back to the light was found.

AskMeryam exists because no one should have to walk that road alone. It is for the nights when your thoughts won't stop, for the moments when your chest tightens and the world starts closing in, and for the quiet fear that you are the only one who feels this way.

You are not the only one. You are not weak. And you are not broken.

This app is dedicated to that pain, that patience, and the quiet, unbreakable strength that carried a heart through it all. If you are in the middle of your own storm right now, please hold on. That soul did. And the dawn came.
